The Simpsons Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Vehicle You're Dreaming Of
We already knew that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in Fortnite. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is another question, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield car the community is eager to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
Although most gamers would absolutely enjoy to compete behind the wheel of The Homer—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the Canyonero, the enormous vehicle featured in the tenth season. Rather, fans are getting the Simpsons' everyday beat-up sedan, which has been in the family since 1989. Though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an recognizable element of the show. For those who pay attention to the game's vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
And it's not the sole customization item from the show arriving in the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of objectives to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the missions will require players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to the Simpson house, and drive a distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the full lineup of challenge rewards isn't yet revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it seems players will also receive wheels with a TV displaying the show's opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects themed to burning tires and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Launch Dates and Crossover Details
This event lines up with the extensive Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which brings a completely new playable area of the fictional town, in addition to a month-long Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration begins on Saturday, Nov. 1 and ends on Nov. 17.
