MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before diving into the many unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few shell-shocking features. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat big creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that plane is it was developed and it is iconic to that,” a senior designer explained. “But in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they took care to ensure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be in standard and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy built around artifact cards.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander precon is set at $69.99, although the price may rise due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

How will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT art. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
