Attorney General Reveals Inquiry into President's Adversaries and Epstein Links

On Friday, the Attorney General designated Jay Clayton to lead an investigation into opponents of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This decision came just after the president ordered her to launch the investigation.

During an announcement, the Attorney General highlighted Jay Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. The official added, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This action seems to diverge from a July memo from justice department officials which indicated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant additional investigations. According to the document, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

On Friday, the President declared he would ask the Department of Justice to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also referred to the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
